Foundry manufacturers will explain to you the advantages of silica sol precision casting

How do silica sol precision casting manufacturers view the manufacturing process of stainless steel precision casting shells?

1. Because the water glass adhesive layer is retained, the overall high-temperature strength and creep resistance of the shell are lower than those of the silica sol shell, and the dimensional accuracy and shape position tolerance of the casting are not as good as those of the silica sol shell;
2. Because the complex shell is the surface of expensive zircon powder, it is 4.5 times the cost of sodium silicate shell. If it is used for producing mullite powder sand in the back layer of large cast steel, its shell has almost the same cost as the silica sol shell, and its low-cost advantage is not very obvious;
3. The quality stability of composite shell castings is better than that of water glass, but worse than that of silica sol shells;

4. Composite shells cannot use medium temperature wax, and medium temperature wax cannot be dewaxed with hot water;
5. The breathability of composite shells is not as good as that of water glass and silica sol shells, and the high-temperature strength of the shell is not as strong as that of silica sol shells, which is more likely to cause waste.

Although the dimensional accuracy of ordinary investment castings is relatively high, it still needs to be improved to achieve consistency. For large steel casting manufacturers, the size and surface quality of stainless steel precision casting are higher than other casting methods, and are more complex than other casting methods. Processing castings is not easy, and investment casting technology can be directly used for casting.
